A Query was written in response to frustrations with education funding in my state. We continue to underfund education while our rainy day fund continues to grow.

Rhetorical Questions as Poetry

Rhetorical questions are a powerful poetic device, but they can also stand as poems on their own. They don’t need answers to leave an impact. The best ones live in the space between literal and figurative. They speak to real conditions while inviting deeper reflection. A single question, well-placed, can say more than a full stanza. A Query leans into that idea and lets the silence fill in the gaps.

What Keeps You Wondering?

Not every question comes with an answer. Some just sit, waiting, like a squatter. If there’s a thought that’s been on your mind, whether literal, metaphorical, or somewhere in between, feel free to share it below. This is a space for reflection, not resolution.

I really hate talking about myself, but if I have to... I’m K.L. McDaniel, the person behind TheOtherKLM. I’m an introvert with extrovert moments, a fitness-minded person fighting later-age fat, and someone trying to keep life somewhat organized without pretending it isn’t a mess. Here, I write about the things I keep coming back to: movement, mental health, learning, self-awareness, and the strange little contradictions that make people interesting. I’m not here to act like I have everything figured out. I’m here to think through it, laugh when possible, and maybe find a little balance in the middle of the clutter. So, that’s me. More or less.
