Alright, folks, let’s talk. I know I’ve been MIA from this blog lately. But hold your gasps—absent doesn’t mean idle. I’ve been busy tinkering with a few ideas that didn’t quite feel like they fit here. Still, I figured it’s high time I gave the handful of you keeping up with me a little update.
We all love to chatter about the big, scary future of AI, right? Well, I’ve been rolling up my sleeves and testing out some of these tools to see what’s what. My conclusion? Poetry still belongs to the humans. AI poetry? Let’s just say it’s heavy on tapestries and labyrinths and light on anything that hits you in the gut. The metaphors? Bless their little circuits—they try, but they just don’t land.
That said, my AI experiments did lead me to a cool find: Suno, a music tool. Now, don’t get me wrong—if you leave it to do its own thing, the results can be, well, robotic. But throw in some human-written lyrics, and suddenly, you’ve got something worth a listen. You might’ve caught a few of the songs I’ve shared here on the blog.
Lately, I’ve been leaning into the holiday vibes and writing some Christmas lyrics. Fun fact: one day, stuck in the writer’s block doldrums, I thought, “What if I mashed up some classic Christmas carols?” That’s how On Holy Night came to life. And you know what? I kinda dig it. Now, my big, pie-in-the-sky dream is that some real musicians stumble across it, fall in love, and decide to make it their own.
Hey, a person can dream, right?
