Back in the day, I enjoyed an occasional spicy debate, savoring the piquant battleground of politics. Over time, however, I believe that politics has become a dish that relies too heavily on spice. Spice that masks the stench of substandard meat.

Our political menu needs to be deconstructed. We need a new menu full of recipes with generous dashes of fairness and kindness. America, after all, is supposed to be a melting pot, a stew that nourishes us with unity and compassion. Call me a hopeful cynic, but it’s time for a political potluck, where we all share our best recipes, savoring the sweet taste of togetherness.

Ready to fire up the grill, or are we stuck with the same old peppery pot?

Feel free to browse my menu of poetic political takes:

I really hate talking about myself, but if I have to... I’m K.L. McDaniel, the person behind TheOtherKLM. I’m an introvert with extrovert moments, a fitness-minded person fighting later-age fat, and someone trying to keep life somewhat organized without pretending it isn’t a mess. Here, I write about the things I keep coming back to: movement, mental health, learning, self-awareness, and the strange little contradictions that make people interesting. I’m not here to act like I have everything figured out. I’m here to think through it, laugh when possible, and maybe find a little balance in the middle of the clutter. So, that’s me. More or less.
