Ah, sweet apathy
the “I’ll do it later” attitude
birthright borne.
“I’ll get to it,” they say
“When I feel like it.”
“I’m just not into
that sort of thing,”
some say
as if they earned
exemption.
It’s a battle
they’re unwilling to fight
until
deadlines dawn
debt due dates converge
or delivery
denied.
And, swiftly
indifference
blows over and over
like fallen leaves
battered by bitter wind
churning and chasing relief
from inertia’s weight.
