Conceptual illustration divided into two halves. Left side shows symbols of change, like a wilting flower and fading paper tattoo design, against a backdrop of a spinning clock. Right side depicts a smooth, youthful hand with a glowing compass tattoo on the wrist, symbolizing timeless personal expression. A semi-transparent veil with abstract patterns separates the halves, reflecting the balance between public perception and personal identity, all set against a mix of cool and warm colors.

“Ever thought about getting a tattoo?”

“Fads fade, tastes change, regrets linger.”

“Forget fads; choose art that’s timeless.”

“Art’s subjective. Beauty varies widely.”

“Like a secret only you know?”

“Exactly. Discretely veiled, singularly mine.”

The Six Squared Poem

A recent goal of mine has been to participate more in the daily prompts and attempt to add more variety to my writing style. On one challenge, I couldn’t quite find a form that worked, but I kept thinking about the Six-Word Memoir, which was pretty popular on social media a few years back. How could I play off that old trend and make something new? I came up with The Six Squared Poem.

The Six Squared poem form involves creating a poem with a total of 36 words—hence the name “Six Squared” (6×6=36). The poem is structured into six lines, each containing six words. This form emphasizes brevity and the power of concise expression, challenging the poet to convey meaning and emotion within a very limited word count.
