When technology fails
All we can do is reboot
Reset
Then test
Again
And wait
Wait
Wait ...

... until
the buffering
stops
and it all starts
working again.

Starting Over

We’ve all been there.

The computer freezes. A wheel begins spinning. Click. Wait. Nothing. Restart. Wait some more. Hope for the best.

It occurred to me that life can feel the same way. We hit a snag, try a fix, and then find ourselves in that awkward stretch where all we can do is wait and see if it worked. Or we decide it didn’t work and start over somewhere else.

No fancy poetry here. Just a familiar frustration.

Your Turn

Write a short poem about starting over. Explore the reset, the uncertainty, the hope, the hesitation, or the moment before something begins again. Scroll down this page to post your poem in the comments or share a link.

I really hate talking about myself, but if I have to... I’m K.L. McDaniel, the person behind TheOtherKLM. I’m an introvert with extrovert moments, a fitness-minded person fighting later-age fat, and someone trying to keep life somewhat organized without pretending it isn’t a mess. Here, I write about the things I keep coming back to: movement, mental health, learning, self-awareness, and the strange little contradictions that make people interesting. I’m not here to act like I have everything figured out. I’m here to think through it, laugh when possible, and maybe find a little balance in the middle of the clutter. So, that’s me. More or less.
