How to Earn $1 a Day Writing Poetry
After years of running this website, I can confidently report that poetry may not be the fastest path to financial independence. In fact, for most of this blog’s existence, I hadn’t even earned enough advertising revenue to request a payment. The earnings were measured in pennies. Actual pennies.
Recently, however, I’ve noticed an encouraging trend. Traffic is increasing. Ad revenue is increasing. At this rate, I may eventually reach a new milestone: earning a whole dollar in a single day. I realize that doesn’t sound particularly impressive. Financial influencers are unlikely to invite me onto their podcasts.
Still, there is something satisfying about watching a creative project slowly begin to support itself. Not enough to retire. Not enough to quit my day job. Not even enough to buy lunch. But enough to remind me that someone is reading. And honestly, that may be worth more than a dollar.
