Lace up those running shoes
For a pre-dawn run
A mile or two will do
(or ten)
Take your rescue puppy
For a nighttime neighborhood stroll.
Stop. Talk with neighbors
Don't forget to listen (even laugh)
Congregate at the park
And mingle with the masses
Who have gathered for a cause
And walk (for a cure)
Finding Your Remedy
Loneliness is a heavy burden for everyone today. But it is hitting men, and young men in particular, the hardest. This isolation creates a loud and dangerous anger. It turns the mind into a powder keg where one spark of resentment can set it off.
To heal, we must all leave our comfort zones and move. We need to stop feeding our inner rage and start looking at the people around us. Strength comes when we shift our focus from our own pain to the needs of others. Doing good for someone else is the only way to cure the bitterness in ourselves. It is simple work, but it is urgent.
Resentment can destroy us. How do we keep it from turning into anger? We want to know how you stop that cycle. What do you do to get out of your head and move toward others? Tell us how you stay helpful and grounded.
