The problem is all clear to see,
Better ways to live, give, and be,
Let me share some tips, my friend,
A better life you'll find in the end.
Take a trip, explore the seas,
Buy a book, indulge in ease.
Learn to cook, bake delights,
Discover joys of simple nights.
Plant a tree, nurture growth,
Adopt a pet, find a bond.
Catch a show, embrace the art,
Feel the warmth within your heart.
Breathe fresh air, hike the trails,
Ride a bike, let the wind guide.
Join a class, expand your mind,
Cherish moments, leave worries behind.
Treat a friend, share good times,
Enjoy art, let it inspire.
Run in the sun, feel alive,
Embrace the energy that thrives.
Donate love, spread it wide,
Support the arts, cherish pride.
Feed the hungry, stand with grace,
Make a difference in your space.
Join a club, find your tribe,
Employ a hobby, feel the vibe.
Plan adventures, get outdoors,
Do the small things to end your wars.
Better ways to spend your days
Than aiding felon's ways.
Discover joys within your sight
Using cash and time
To make our world shine bright.
One Way to Lighten Up
We spend too much energy tearing each other down. That is a fact. Too many of us have been sitting on the sidelines, hoping the division in this country will fix itself. It will not. We each have a part to play.
Sitting back is comfortable, but comfort is not courage. If we let anger and blame drive the conversation, then hate wins by default. The only way forward is to choose to build with our words, our actions, and our presence.
My poem, on the right, names ways we can become Builders. The Builders Movement is about doing the work instead of waiting for someone else to fix what is broken. We need to step up, cool the rhetoric, and start building together.
