Equilibrium Lost
My world stirs in the soft dawn light
Between blurred lines
Of laughter and duty
So keyboard clicks to deadline’s call
Work demands duty
Surrendering mere moments for hours
To repeated, relentless tasks
Taking time away from familiar faces
Home once safe, now compromised
Dreams deferred, desires paused
Rest delayed, foundations decayed
Home life replaced with work’s demands
We chase others’ definitions of success
Ignoring our true needs
In family, in loved ones
Life’s true meaning, not in our jobs
We carry this imbalance on shoulders askew
Too focused on work
We miss life’s most important moments
That were once housed at home
