This I know

Write a List, Start a Habit

List poems are one of the easiest ways to start writing. They don’t need rhyme or metaphor. Just a focus—an idea, a feeling, a question—and a series of lines.

You can list memories, contradictions, observations, or truths. Over time, meaning will start to build through the pattern itself. The shape will find you.

List poems are how I return to writing when I feel stuck. They are small steps that lead somewhere.

✍️ Your Turn

Write a list poem. Let the lines pile up and see what they reveal. Share yours in the comments or post a link—I’d love to read it.
